Masonic Education Award

During the May 2014 stated meeting, Brother David I. Oppenheim P.M. was presented with a Masonic Education Talk Award from the Grand Lodge of Tennessee.  Brother Oppenheim had given a talk on "Sacred Volumes of Various Cultures" which was well received by the Brethren of Jamestown Lodge No. 281. 

Worshipful Master Jerry Dale Asberry encouraged others to research the history of Masonry, not only for their own education, but as a means of refined and social entertainment.

Masonic Awards Presented

On May 8, 2014 two Masonic awards were presented to members of the York Agricultural Institute's JROTC program.  These awards were presented to the two deserving Cadets by Brother Ruben G. Hilligoss 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and current Junior Steward of Jamestown Lodge No. 281.

Brother Jerry Dale Asberry, Worshipful Master of Jamestown Lodge No. 281, F. & A. M., deeply regrets to inform the brethren that Brother Cordes Sceebren Taubert went to the celestial lodge above on May 5th, 2014. 

Brother Taubert was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason at Jamestown Lodge No. 281. He served as Worshipful Master in 1961. He was a 50 year member of the Fraternity, the York Rite, and Order of the Eastern Star.

Masonic Funeral rites were provided by Worshipful Master Jerry Dale Asberry and Brethren of Jamestown Lodge No. 281; with Brother G. Daniel Mata providing the services.

District 13 Meeting

On April 17, 2014 Brethren from all over the Upper Cumberland area descended upon Fentress County and Clarkrange High School to attend the District 13 meeting.  The meeting was deemed one of the best yet and had "the biggest crowd" to date. 

The meeting was full of information, great food, and most importantly....great fellowship. 

Brother G. Daniel Mata P.M. and District 13 Chairman is to be commended for this untiring efforts in supporting District 13.

In Memoriam


 



Brother Jerry Dale Asberry, Worshipful Master of Jamestown Lodge No. 281, F. & A. M., deeply regrets to inform the brethren that Brother James Howard Blevins went to the celestial lodge above on Friday March 28th 2014. Brother Blevins had been in bad health for some time and had been in Willow bend living Center in Selma, In.  since the first of this year. Brother Blevins was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason in 1957 at Jamestown Lodge No. 281. He was very proud of Our Lodge and spoke of it often, His brother Levi Blevins had also been a member of Jamestown Lodge No. 281, he passed in 1995.

A  Memorial service was conducted at Parsons Mortuary on March 30th by Muncie Lodge No. 433. Past Master William Waters of Delaware Lodge No. 46 served as Master, assisted by Bro. Hugh Morris PM Muncie Lodge No. 433 and Steven Edwards PM of Muncie Lodge No. 433 and Sulpher Springs Lodge. Brother Hall Blevins, also a Member of Muncie Lodge No. 433, stood with the Brethren. Brother James Blevins was also a member of Indianapolis Valley Of the Scottish Rite. Brother Blevins was born in Fentress County, TN to Oby Blevins and Arlena (Kidd) Blevins April 6th 1928. He had Moved to the Muncie Indiana area in 1954 working for GM Delco. Then becoming a self employed Home Builder for over 40 years.

Brother Blevins will be missed by the Brethren of Jamestown Lodge No. 281 and the fraternity.

Brother Jerry Dale Asberry, Worshipful Master of Jamestown Lodge No. 281, F. & A. M., deeply regrets to inform the brethren that Brother Eugene C. Taubert passed away Saturday March 22, 2014, and went to join his Almighty Father in the Grand Celestial Lodge above.

Brother Taubert, affiliated with the Order for the past 50 years, was a revered member of the Fraternity.

Uniform Degree Team Confers Master Mason Degree

The Uniform Degree Team, headed by Past Grand Master K.I. Wright, conferred a Master Mason Degree at Cookeville Lodge No. 266 on Saturday March 8th.  The degree team confers Master Mason degrees on brothers who are military, policemen, fire fighters, EMS workers etc.
